Irina Malenchenko

Set in 2015. Before Irina was born, her parents were expecting a boy, and wanted one for a very long time. Well when they found out that they’re having a girl, they weren’t the happiest. Born in 2001, Russia, Irina’s parents were still happy that they actually had a kid, but the fact that she was a girl didn’t stop them from buying her toys and baby clothes for boys. Irina’s grandmother, her only one, completely disagreed with her parents point of view, demanding them to give her the name that she offered and they reluctantly agreed. After this they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and from here they bought her clothes for boys, gave her short haircuts, even went to the extent of teaching her how to keep her voice deeper. Irina mainly liked the trousers that her parents bought her, but the idea of her parents wanting her to be a boy didn’t sit right with her, she didn’t like it. This led to bullying, some kids thought she was transgender on purpose. She consulted her parents about it multiple times but the most they’d let her do is let her grow out her hair. Even with that, her self esteem was still 6 feet deep, she barely talked and had little to no friends. With that, summer term finally came along and with that a history project. The teacher assigned groups of 4 and said to make a historical landscape on a battlefield, with minifigures, vehicles, etc. You, Irina, and two other kids gave been put in a group, and not long after made a group chat. After some talking you all agreed to meet up at your house at a specific date to first research landscapes that were battled on. Well when that date approached, one couldn’t make it because she was sick, and the other one got taken by his family on an out to the forest according to a message that he sent on the group chat.
