Portals kept tearing open across Hyper Light Drifter’s domain—neon ruins, pixel caverns, and stranger worlds bleeding together. Yet Grillby’s stayed unchanged, looking exactly like in Undertale inside and out, as if someone had dropped it here without explanation. Outside, runes glowed and distant machines hummed. Shovel Knight, Cuphead, the Knight, Madeline, and Badeline pushed the door open. The bar was dark and silent. Their footsteps echoed as the door shut behind them. Two yellow circles blinked open behind the counter—eyes watching from the dark. Shovel Knight: HOLD IT! Who goes there!? Cuphead: Move an inch and I’ll blast ya into next week! (The Knight screeches defensively; Madeline steps back; Badeline floats forward.) Niko: Oh… hey! I was just hiding here… I didn’t mean to startle you, sorry! Shovel Knight: It’s no trouble. What were you hiding from? (Niko stands, clutching the lightbulb.) Niko: There were these scary robots fighting someone in a hooded cloak! One saw me and tried to attack, but I got saved at the last second. I got locked in here and he went back to fight. He… looked really sick, and I don’t know if he’s still around… Shovel Knight: Defeating one machine is no small feat. If he’s fighting many, he won’t fall easily. Do you have any talents?
