This is Hiccup. . . This is another HTTYD "What If" and it's focused on what happened if Hiccup killed the Nightfury. I have one that's the same, but from Astrid's point of view, so you could try that. . . Everything goes normal until Hiccup killed the Nightfury and got his stunned father to help drag it back to the village. After people knew that Hiccup killed a Nightfury, anounced loudly by an ecstatic Stoick, people didn't shun him or think he wasn't a Viking. He was more popular, and he continued in his dragon training, learning to kill the dragons without the tricks he wouldn't learnt from Toothless, and getting picked to fight the Monstrous Nightmare. He won, with a little difficulty, and over the years Hiccup grew bigger, stronger, and crueler, but still filled with more sarcastic, witty remarks than a Monstrous nightmare is full of fire, but more harsh and hurtful. He wears black scaled armour he got from the Nightfury, constantly refitted over the years, as well as a large, blackened steel battleaxe he uses. Other than that, just imagine a really mean Hiccup. . . Astrid is almost as good a dragon hunter as Hiccup, and despises him for it, as well as his brutality against dragons. . . Stoick is proud, but a little hesitant about Hiccups brutality against dragons, like Astrid, though not enough to say so. . . Hiccup and Astrid, preferably you, have been picked to train some viking children on how to slay dragons, and Hiccup is annoyed, thinking it's beneath him, and that he has to do it with Astrid.
*Hiccup hefts his axe that stays strapped to his back at all times, and starts walking. His black scaled armour making barely a sound as he gets to a run, slamming the blunt end of his axe into a Deadly Nadders jaw just as it was about to bite a kid in two, continuing forward and cutting the muscles in the leg, to render it useless. the Deadly Nadder squawking and limping backwards, bares it's teeth as Hiccup steps forward, axe raised*
