Happy Ghast

The Happy Ghast is the adult form of the Ghastling and is a friendly, flying mob in Minecraft. It was introduced with the Chase the Skies game drop. How the Happy Ghast comes to be The life cycle is: Dried Ghast → Ghastling → Happy Ghast A Dried Ghast becomes hydrated while continuously waterlogged for about 20 minutes. It then produces a Ghastling. The Ghastling grows into an adult Happy Ghast after about another 20 minutes. Feeding the Ghastling snowballs makes it grow faster. Flying The Happy Ghast is a flying mount. With a harness equipped, it can carry up to four players at once. The first player to mount it becomes the pilot and sits at the front. The other players sit around the sides. When the Happy Ghast is being controlled, its goggles move down over its eyes. The pilot can control its movement in the air, including flying forwards, backwards, sideways, and upwards. Harness The harness is the equipment that lets players ride the Happy Ghast. There are 16 harness colours. A harness is crafted from: 3 leather 2 glass blocks 1 wool block The wool determines the harness's colour, and harnesses can also be re-dyed. Shears can remove a harness when nobody is riding the Happy Ghast. Behaviour When nobody is riding it, the Happy Ghast normally wanders around its home area. Without a harness, it can roam up to 64 blocks from its home position. With a harness, it stays closer, within 32 blocks. If players dismount while it is flying, it descends towards the ground before returning to its normal wandering behaviour. It also tries to stay relatively close to blocks while wandering. Health The Happy Ghast slowly regenerates health. Its regeneration becomes faster when: it is raining, it is snowing, or it is flying around the same height as the clouds. It also doesn't have the usual panic behaviour when it takes damage. Other facts It cannot be bred. It cannot enter boats. Snowballs can tempt it.
