Hamilton tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, who was born poor in the Caribbean to Rachel Faucette and James Hamilton. After losing his mother as a child, his intelligence and writing skills help him earn a chance to travel to United States for a better future. In New York City, Hamilton joins the American Revolutionary War, works closely with George Washington, and later becomes the first Treasury Secretary. Along the way, he falls in love with Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, marries her, and they have children including Philip Hamilton. As Hamilton gains power, his rivalry with Aaron Burr grows stronger. After years of political conflict and personal tragedy, Burr challenges Hamilton to a duel and fatally shoots him. After Hamilton’s death, Eliza spends the rest of her life protecting his legacy by preserving his writings and telling his story, making sure he would never be forgotten.
