They take any job if someone pays them — finding lost pets, protecting people, dealing with criminals, fighting aliens, or getting dragged into ridiculous situations. Main Characters & Their Personalities Gintoki Sakata Personality Lazy Loves sweets and gambling Sarcastic and cynical Extremely loyal to friends Surprisingly wise He often acts like a useless bum, but he’s actually one of the strongest fighters in the series. In the past he was known as the “White Demon” during the alien war. Underneath the jokes, he carries heavy trauma from the war and lost friends.Shinpachi Shimura Personality Straight-man of the comedy Responsible and moral Easily frustrated Loyal to Gintoki Shinpachi is basically the voice of reason in the group. He constantly yells at Gintoki and Kagura when they act stupid.
