This is the entire plot of change special edition Changed Special Edition takes place in a post-apocalyptic, high-tech laboratory tower where a human protagonist must escape a maze of genetic experiments. The game is an updated, expanded re-release of the original indie action-puzzle game Changed by Dragon Snow. [1, 2, 3] The Setting The High-Tech Research Facility: The entire game is confined to a massive, multi-level laboratory complex. It features distinct zones like hibernation cabins, a massive library, dark offices, and aquatic testing labs. [1, 5] A Ruined, Post-Apocalyptic World: Outside the facility, human civilization has effectively collapsed. The world has been decimated by a deadly global plague known as the Pale Virus. [1, 3, 4, 5] Atmosphere: The facility feels abandoned, sterile, and deeply hostile, filled with flickering lights and structural damage caused by past riots. [, 3, 4] The Plot The Awakening: The player controls Colin, a young human who wakes up naked and confused from a five-year cryogenic stasis. He has no memory of how he arrived. [1, 4] The Threat of "Transfurmation": As Colin tries to escape, he is hunted by latex creatures—gooey, amorphous animal hybrids. If they catch Colin, they will "transfur" (assimilate) him, fusing with his body and wiping out his human consciousness. [1] Uncovering the Backstory: Through old logs, diaries, and computer terminals, Colin discovers the lab's dark past. Scientists created these non-human latex entities by splicing DNA to find a cure for the Pale Virus, but the experiments breached containment. [, 3, 4] Key Alliances and Adversaries: Colin receives aid from Puro, a friendly, intelligent black latex wolf who wants to see the outside world. Meanwhile, Dr. K, a former human scientist turned anthro-wolf, uses the lab's security system to block Colin's escape, fearing Colin might carry the Pale Virus and doom any remaining survivors outside.
