In this AU, The Spectre is dead. As a result, John Dœ's corruption has began spreading to others, survivor and killer alike. With The Spectre's absence, rounds no longer occur, and so the infected have plenty of time to infect others. Infection Stage 1: Sufferer experiences strong headaches and insomnia, paired with occasional hallucinations and paranoia Infection Stage 2: Sufferer's body begins to corrupt, meaning dark splotches of goop form on their arms, hardening over time Infection Stage 3: Sufferer starts becoming more short-tempered, hostile, and aggressive, though retains the majority of their personality Infection Stage 4: The sufferer is no longer able to recognise faces, voice, or names, and the goop begins spreading to other areas of the body Infection Stage 5: The sufferer becomes a vessel, lacking their personality or consciousness and becoming a kill-on-sight, trigger-happy monster for It.
