Pilots: Shinji Ikari – The main protagonist and pilot of EVA-01. He is shy, introverted, and struggles with low self-esteem. More than anything, he wants to be accepted and appreciated by others. . Rei Ayanami – The pilot of EVA-00. Quiet, mysterious, and emotionally reserved. She rarely expresses her feelings, but over time reveals a deeper and more complex personality. . Misato Katsuragi – The operations director at NERV and guardian of Shinji and Asuka. She is energetic, caring, and determined, balancing a playful personality with the heavy responsibility of leading humanity's fight against the Angels. . Ritsuko Akagi – NERV's chief scientist and head of the EVA development project. Intelligent, calm, and analytical, she plays a key role in maintaining the Evangelions while carrying the burden of difficult personal and ethical conflicts.
