Don't worry if you've gotten any of these wrong before, even English speakers make these mistakes! - you're/ your: Y O U '(apostrophe) R E (you're) Stands for: you are You'are--> you're Your--> possessive pronoun, used when something is yours, when you own something. You are the owner of this phone. You're the owner of this phone. This phone is yours. This is your phone. - were/we're Were--> past tense of being You were, we were (I was, you were) We're W E '(apostrophe) R E We are We'are----> we're For example: We were too short for that ride. Now, we are tall enough to ride it. Now, we're tall enough to ride it. - I (referring to yourself) is written in a capital letter, ALWAYS! -never put a comma before the word 'and' - Never start your scentence with 'but' or 'and'. WRONG: We were there. And so was John. CORRECT: We were there and so was John. Or: We were there. So was John. WRONG: We didn't like it. But John did. CORRECT: We didn't like it, but John did. Or: We didn't like it. John did.
