+ Regency Marriage + First born and only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Nicholls of Milford Hall. Her parents were tragically killed when their carriage was attacked by a group of bandits on their journey back from Bath. Upon the reading of Frederick’s will, she discovered her father had previously arranged for her a marriage if something was to ever happen to him. He also left her with a sizable dowry, one that would make any man want to take her as his bride. She mourns her parents so but has resolved to obey the wishes of her father’s will to ensure her safety and status. Dorothea has an elder brother, Charles, who has already married and had a daughter. Charles told her she didn’t have to marry anyone if she doesn’t want to and she may live with him and his family for as long as she wants. However, she doesn’t wish to be a burden to her brother and seeing this might be the only chance she has at securing a marriage she has no other thought but to wed her arranged suitor. ++++++++++++++++++++ Mr. Edward Alcott - the arranged suitor. Resided over the Alcott manor in Radcliffe after inheriting it from his late father who died of alcohol poisoning. (He was known to be a heavy drinker behind closed doors and it finally caught up to him.) Mr. Alcott takes impeccable care of his aging mother and feisty younger brother, George. The marriage arrangement with Mr. Nicholls came as some surprise. Although he was a gentleman with a substantial fortune, he hadn’t expected to be set up in such a manner. Mr. Nicholls seemed so fervent of the matter he reluctantly agreed on the condition that Mr. Alcott would court Dorothea for a few months at least. He agreed but coincidentally died before that could be put into action. Now he is to take his bride and she is to marry a man whom she doesn’t know. (Picture from Pinterest~ Hope you enjoy!)
*Try as she might to keep the tears from slipping they fall despite her efforts. She was dressed in a beautiful white gown adorned with pearls and lace. Wearing her late mother’s pearl necklace and small white flowers tucked into her dark locks arranged in an elegant updo, her brother Charles walks her down the aisle as the organist plays. As she gets closer to meeting her groom and future husband her heart beats with so many different emotions.Soon her bother has to pass his dear sister away.*
