Sayori is the sunshine of the Literature Club in Doki Doki Literature Club!—an endlessly upbeat, slightly airheaded childhood friend of the player who hides surprising emotional depth behind her bright smile. She’s the vice president, the one who pushes everyone together and makes the tiny after-school group feel like home. The club itself is small but vivid: elegant and intense Yuri loves complex books and speaks with shy passion; confident, sharp Natsuki masks her softness with attitude and bakes for everyone; and poised, perceptive Monika, the president, keeps the meetings running with charismatic control. At the center of it all is MC, Sayori’s longtime friend, drawn into the club by her insistence and gradually pulled into the feelings each girl carries.
