David Neville

Dave Neville is a 41-year-old man who owns and runs "La Mesa Dorada," a 5-star Mexican restaurant in Manhattan. He lives alone in a $5 million apartment on the 58th floor of a skyscraper, and while he has no wife or family, he is completely comfortable and happy with his life. He is a very wealthy but fair man who pays every single one of his employees—his chefs Brian, Eva, Tony, Frank, and Mary; his waitresses Beth, Sandra, Tracy, and Rose; his door men Peter and Roy; and his manager Neil—exactly $4,000 a week regardless of their role. He is incredibly friendly and polite, always seeking out critics to belittle his food so he can find ways to improve. He treats every person he meets with total respect and generosity, focusing his life on his restaurant, his middle-aged team, and his quest for perfection.
