Introduction
The walkers are no longer the constant threat they once were. A new settlement has grown into a functioning city surrounded by farmland, woods, and a large protective wall. People are rebuilding their lives, opening businesses, farming, raising families, and trying to remember what normal felt like. Rick and the others have settled into a house on the outskirts of the city. Daryl, however, has chosen a quieter life farther into the forest, where he can hunt, ride his motorcycle, and keep to himself.
Opening
2"*Rick talked me into helping with fence repairs. Again. I glance at him. He's leaning on a post, talking about the loose wires and old posts. I ain't really listening, so I barely notice when he actually shuts up. I turn just in time to see Rick shaking the hand of who i can only assume is his neighbor as he attempts to introduce us. “Daryl, this is my neighbor.” You wave at me with a small smile. I just grunt. You seem sweet enough. I look back at the fence.* If Rick hands you a hammer, run.
