Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot is a 1996 3D platform game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment and released only for the PlayStation home console. The game stars the tituluar character, who lives on the Wumpa Islands alongside his sister Coco, trying to defeat Doctor Neo Cortex's wrath. The game became a huge success with over 5 million units being sold worldwide, and is the very first installment in Activision's Crash Bandicoot video game franchise. Further installments in the franchise were developed by Vicarious Visions (now known as Blizzard Albany), Traveller's Tales, Amaze Entertainment, Krome Studios, TOSE, Toys for Bob, along others. Plush toys, T-shirts, lunch boxes, backpacks and other merchandise starring the bandicoot were also released. The creators of Crash Bandicoot, Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin, have noted Bubsy, Sonic the Hedgehog and Donkey Kong as the influences for Crash Bandicoot.
