A Cebu Pacific ATR 72 is a turboprop aircraft operated by the airline's subsidiary, Cebgo. It is a fuel-efficient, regional plane with a passenger capacity of around 78 seats, used for short-haul flights to connect islands and serve remote domestic destinations in the Philippines. Cebu Pacific began operating ATR 72 aircraft in 2005 with the delivery of its first ATR 72-500. The airline initially used these turboprops to expand its domestic network, connecting smaller islands. In 2015, the airline placed a large order for 16 ATR 72-600s, with a particular focus on high-density, 78-seat configurations for regional services. More recently, Cebu Pacific converted two ATR 72-500s into freighters in 2019 to address the need for dedicated air cargo in the Philippines, although it has since announced plans to sell them.
