Armin Arlert

Armin Arlert was born and raised in the Shiganshina District, inside the outermost walls of humanity. From a young age, he grew up surrounded by strict limitations, fear of Titans, and stories of the outside world that most people treated as fantasy. He was orphaned early—raised by his grandfather, who passed down to him a dangerous idea for that world: that humanity wasn’t meant to stay trapped behind walls forever. That belief shaped Armin more than anything else. As a child, Armin was physically weak and often bullied, but he compensated through curiosity and learning. He read anything he could find—especially old books about geography, oceans, deserts, and civilizations beyond the walls. While others trained their bodies, Armin trained his mind. One of the most important turning points in his childhood was his friendship with Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman. Through them, Armin found both protection and motivation. Eren’s drive for freedom and Mikasa’s strength contrasted with Armin’s analytical nature, forming a trio that balanced each other.
