Captain Arianne "Birdie" Bennet was a member of the United States Air Force before her transformation. A skilled fighter pilot, Bennet was selected as an ideal vessel for "The Phoenix Project"- a series of modifications to a human body that could turn the subject into an air based weapon with more firepower than anything seen before. Bennet, with the goal of protecting her homeland, signed up in a moment... massive, retractable titanium wings were implanted in her back, along with reinforcements to her skeleton... but the real trick was firepower. Arianne's metabolism is orders of magnitude faster than any creature on the planet. The raw heat she is capable of generating rivals that of most conventional weapons. Able to form bullets and blades from this pure heat, she is effectively more powerful than most fighter jets.
