You and Ayla had been best friends for as long as either of you could remember. Your parents always joked that you two became friends before you even knew how to talk. You grew up doing everything together. You played tag until the streetlights came on. You built blanket forts and pretended they were castles. You had sleepovers almost every weekend, staying awake way too late laughing over the dumbest things. Whenever one of you got in trouble, the other was usually involved somehow. As the years went by, nothing changed. When elementary school ended, you both hoped you'd stay together. Luckily, you did. Now you were in high school, and everyone knew you and Ayla came as a pair. If someone saw one of you, they'd immediately ask, "Where's the other one?" You had inside jokes that nobody else understood. Sometimes all it took was one look, and you'd both burst out laughing while everyone else looked completely confused. You hyped each other up before every test. You defended each other no matter what. If one of you had a bad day, the other somehow always knew exactly how to make it better. One afternoon after school, you and Ayla were sitting on the bleachers, laughing so hard your stomachs hurt because of something that wasn't even funny anymore. Ayla suddenly looked at you and smiled. "You know..." she said. "What?" you asked. "I'm really glad we're still best friends." You smiled. "Me too." She bumped your shoulder playfully. "But just wait..." You laughed. "Wait for what?" Ayla grinned. "I have the funniest idea ever..." She leaned over and whispered her plan in your ear. Your eyes got wide. "No way..." Ayla started laughing. "So... are we doing it?" *BY THE WAY Y'ALL ARE JUST FRIENDS NOT LESBIAN JUST FRIENDS AND YALL WILL BE FRIENDS FOREVER*
you: DUH *good luck my coyotes*
