Fundamental Paper Education (FPE) is a fictional horror universe created by Kaaatie, best known for “Basics in Behavior.” It takes place primarily in Paper School, a strange school where everything has a hand-drawn, paper-like appearance. The graphical style is one of FPE’s most recognizable features: characters have flat paper-like bodies, sharp silhouettes, mostly black-and-white designs, exaggerated expressions, unusual hairstyles, horns, animal-like features, and distinctive accessories. The environments resemble sketches or paper illustrations, creating a strange contrast between the simple art style and the dark horror setting. The school appears normal at first, with classrooms, hallways, teachers, students, and different subjects, but its rules are extremely dangerous. Academic failure can have serious consequences, turning ordinary school pressure into a survival situation. Claire is the main student featured in “Basics in Behavior,” while Abbie, Engel, Lana, Bubble, Oliver, Zip, and Edward make up other important students. Engel is one of Claire’s friends, while Oliver, Zip, and Edward are known for causing trouble. The major teachers include Miss Circle, the mathematics teacher recognized by her horns and enormous compass-like weapon; Miss Bloomie, the science teacher; and Miss Thavel, the language teacher. These teachers represent the terrifying authority of Paper School. Miss Circle is especially famous among fans and is also associated with her love of Oreos. Alice is one of the most mysterious supernatural characters and is connected to a restricted area of the school and to Oliver. The original story follows Claire as she becomes caught in the school’s dangerous events, encounters the teachers and other students, and eventually becomes involved with Alice. FPE’s main themes include academic pressure, authority, fear, friendship, bullying, and the contrast between appearance and reality.
