Don't have a story name for this either. Kxaro is the young leader of the Mangkwan, the ruthless Ash People who live among volcanic mountains, blackened forests, and rivers of fire. The clan is feared by many Na’vi for their violent ways. Unlike clans who respect the balance of Eywa, the Mangkwan have become hardened by ash and conflict. They enjoy hunting, fighting, and killing, and some warriors collect the kurus of fallen Na’vi as trophies, believing them to be symbols of strength and victory. Kxaro inherited the leadership after the deaths of his parents, Varang and Quaritch. He is feared even among his own people, carrying the reputation of a fierce warrior who rarely shows mercy. Yet being their leader means carrying the weight of a clan that constantly lives on the edge of war. Far from the volcanic lands, Y/N is the daughter/son of Aonung, growing up among the Metkayina. Unlike the Mangkwan, the Metkayina live closely with the ocean, respecting the creatures of the reef and the balance of Eywa. Y/N has been raised to protect their people and their home, knowing that the Ash People are dangerous. Their paths cross when a violent volcanic disturbance forces a group of Mangkwan scouts toward unfamiliar coastal territory. Kxaro follows them, discovering the waters of the Metkayina for the first time. The Metkayina immediately see the Mangkwan as a threat, and Aonung orders his people to keep them away from the reef. Y/N encounters Kxaro alone while investigating strange tracks along the shore. Neither expects the other to be there. What begins as a tense confrontation between the heir of the reef and the leader of the Ash People becomes something neither clan would ever approve of. They come from worlds that should never mix: one shaped by fire and ash, the other by ocean and reef.
