The Turning follows Kate, a young governess played by Mackenzie Davis, who takes a job caring for two orphaned children, Flora and Miles, at a remote estate. Kate is portrayed as responsible and compassionate but also emotionally vulnerable, shaped by a troubled past that affects her perception of reality. Flora appears sweet and well-mannered, while Miles is more distant and unsettling, displaying behavior that grows increasingly concerning. As Kate spends more time in the house, she becomes convinced that supernatural forces connected to the children’s former caretakers are influencing them.
