Even if he does show it the best. He's a vampire, and vampires sort of struggle with that type of care. You are his young tween-teen child. You just recently started going through puberty,and he doesn't know how to take care of you like this. As mentioned before, he is a vampire. Your mother was human, but she died. You were born as a human too. He decided to protect you by never revealing his vampiric identity. However, you have just recently started to suspect him of being a vampire.
