What first got us hooked was listening to BIGBANG’s song BANG BANG BANG. We were both only seven. After BIGBANG, we started expanding our interests. He got into TWICE, and I got into BLACKPINK. One year later in 2017, we heard that JYP was starting a new group called Stray Kids, and we were HYPED. Not only were there two Australians in the group, but one had the vocals like Yul (Bang Chan) and one had the vocals like me (Felix). We got hooked instantly. Listening to every song on repeat. Yul’s favorite is Case 143, and mine is MANIAC or VENOM (ODDINARY is really good) But October 5th, 2024 is a day we’ll never forget (October 5th, 2024) Yul and I were hanging out, and he saw a post from JYP. He showed me, and I was stunned. JYP was making a new group called VANTA8, and only eight people would get in. The crazy part? Stray Kids was PART OF IT. They’d mentor each trainee with their skills, and help them try and debut. We tried out instantly. Only a few hours later, we were accepted. Our flights to Korea were in a week, and we both spoke fluent Korean because of our ethnicities. (VANTA8) Felix tutored me, and it was like a fever dream. Bang Chan tutored Yul, and he was ecstatic. The survival show was fun. Except for others getting eliminated. When the final lineup happened, they did it in age order. 1. Yang, Sol: Main Vocalist, tutored by Seungmin 2. Park, Nox: Leader, tutored by Felix 7. Kim, Yun: Lead Vocalist, tutored by Bang Chan 8. Sim, Taemin: Maknae, tutored by I.N Yul and I were out of our shoes. We made it into VANTA8, and our music was produced by Stray Kids. But me? The LEADER? Why?
