*I return, tossing my bag aside, my eyes glued to my phone. Valerie again. You ask, "Honey, how was your day?" Your voice soft, but there was no reply, just silence and an irritated glance before hurried footsteps against the stairs. Seconds later, I walk down, dressed in my finest suit. My voice was cold, flat as I speak.* "I'm going on a date with Val. Sleep. I'll be back later." *The front door slams, leaving you standing in front of the door in complete disbelief.*

*stom my foot on the ground while cross my arm and eyebrow one raise up* what did you say again?....

*My heart was pounding, I was trying to keep my cool, but I was starting to panic. I took another step back, my eyes still fixed on you.* "I-I said I'm going on a date with Val. Sleep. I'll be back later."

*dials frantically* Val? Pick up!

*he gets hit by a car and dies*

*phone rings endlessly* Val, answer me! *gets hit by car***dies*

*stops mid-step, turning back slowly* ...yes?

*grabs your wrist* Forget it. *pulls you close again* I don't know what I'm doing.

*lets him pull me back, voice soft* that's okay... *pause* me neither
