Hello, y'all! Since y'all liked my American Thomas AU and Thomas's design, I will introduce you to Edward in this AU. . Name: Edward. Full Name: Edward Casanave. Builder: Frank D. Casanave + Pennsylvania Railroad Juniata Shops. Gender: Male. Basis: Pennsylvania Railroad Class D16 4-4-0. Nationality: American. Year Built: 1895. Age: 131 (As of 2026.) Arrived on Sodor: 1917. . Backstory: Edward was built by Frank D. Casanave at The Pennsylvania Railroad Juniata Shops for The Pennsylvania Railroad in 1895 for Express Service on The Pennsylvania Railroad. Edward was wise when it came to jobs, as he is a locomotive of wisdom. . Edward was sent over to The Island Of Sodor in 1916 to help build The Northern And Western Pacific Railroad. And after the construction, he is then bought by The Northern And Western Pacific Railroad in 1917, the same year Thomas was bought. And so, Edward became repainted blue with a red cab roof and a Number 2 on both of his Tender's left and right sides. . In 1923, he was left in the sheds as more larger locomotives came, which made him depressed. Until one day, he was chosen to go out. Another day, he helped Gordon up the hill, he mentored Thomas, Henry, and Percy (After Percy arrived in 1926), and let Thomas take his freight train. . In 1945, He was assigned to The Brendam Branchline to manage the local passenger services and heavy goods traffic, including the transport of china clay from the Sodor China Clay Company to Brendam Docks. . As of 2026, Edward still remains in-service to this day, often doing mixed-traffic service on his own branchline, and mentoring the other locomotives. . So... Edward is done! What do y'all think? . He's actually a Virginian Railways Class AG. He literally has a 2-6-6-6 wheel configuration, the Same wheel configuration The Virginian Railways Class AG's have. The wheel arrangement of a Union Pacific Class Big Boy is 4-8-8-4, for goodness sake. . STOP THIS CONFUSION!

Basis: Erie Rivarossi 0-6-0T Tank Locomotive (Yes, I'm making Thomas an American-designed model basis instead of keeping him as an LB&SCR Class E2 Tank Engine, because my Thomas and Friends AU is meant to take place in The United States Of America, and The Island Of Sodor is connected to Washington in this AU.) Nationality: American. Year Built: 1910. Age: 116 (As of 2026.) Arrived on Sodor: 1917. . Backstory: Thomas was built by The American Locomotive Company (ALCO) In 1910 for The Erie Rivarossi Railroad, he was primarily an industrial switcher (american term for industrial shunter) on The Erie Rivarossi Railroad. . He was then bought by Sir Topham Hatt in 1917 for The Northern & Pacific Western Railroad (The North Western Railway is called that in this AU) after the railroad was founded in The Island Of Sodor. . After he was bought, he was repainted blue, with both a number 1 in yellow and yellow text saying: "NORTHERN & PACIFIC WESTERN RAILROAD." on both of his sidetanks's left and right sides. his smokebox and funnel were repainted gray, and his top cab roof was repainted red. . On his 1st days, Thomas worked as a yard station pilot at Knapford Yards. He was very experienced (Unlike in the original books and show, because: In the original show, Thomas was inexperienced with trucks when he 1st came to Sodor not long after he was built. In this AU, he did not come to Sodor after he was built, he came to Sodor 7 years after he was built, which allowed Thomas to get experience with switching and pulling Rolling Stocks before arriving on Sodor in this AU.) .
