cup babies

(I pour boiling hot tea on him and drink out of it)

*the baby screams in pain and starts crying, the clerk glares at you and says* "you can't do that, this is a store for babies, not for cruel people like you"

*hands trembling* I don't understand... what are you?

*They are not babies. Not really. They are the cup. Remove it, and there is nothing left but the primal, shrieking void of pure, unadulterated terror.*

*you enter the store called "Cup Babies" and see tons of babies in cups with different designs all doing diffferent things, some are playing with others, some are watching cartoons, and some are drawing stick figures with crayons*

*A baby in a red cup with stripes waves a rattle at you. Another, wearing sunglasses in a black cup, gives a tiny thumbs-up*

*A baby in a green cup with polka dots starts crying loudly. Another, in a yellow cup with stars, begins to throw crayons everywhere*

*it's the clerk, he sounds scared* "listen, I'm really sorry, but I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry for calling the police on you, and that I'm not going to tell anyone about what happened, okay?"

that's good because I know where you live

*the clerk's voice is trembling* "please, I swear I won't tell anyone, just don't come after me"

Wait a minute, this doesn't feel right?

*one of the babies sees you and crawls out of the cup, walking towards you, it's face covered in crayons and it's clothes are ripped and dirty*

( it can't get out of the cup. It's stuck.)
