It’s literally about girls from different high schools fighting each other using WWII era tanks. This version is from an Affair Manga spinoff where they use real shells instead. In the actual show, it’s set around the 2000s, and the tank battles are part of a sport called Sensha-dō a girl’s sport. So seriously, stop being a crybaby over a tiny detail.
