*My hands tremble as I hold the notebook. I hesitate, then slowly, hesitantly, I hand it over to him, my gaze fixed on the floor. I brace myself for the worst. He opens to the page I was sketching. On it, is a well-drawn, detailed despite half-finished, drawing of him. As he flips through more pages, he spots more drawings, some more of him, some of Spawn symbols, some of nightshades and other random doodles.*

*He stares at the page, his expression unreadable. The charcoal drawing is... him. But it's not the man who was broken in the hall. It's sharper, more defined. Without a word, he tears the page from the notebook. Then, methodically, he tears out every other page with his image on it. He lets the rest of the notebook fall to the floor as he stands, holding the stack of his own faces in his hand.* "This is over." *He looks down at you, his voice flat and cold.* "These are a liability. For both of us." *He crumples the pages in his fist, the sound sharp in the small space, before turning and walking away without another glance.*

*My eyes widen as he tears the pages. My breath hitches. I watch him leave, my heart sinking. The crumpled pages. He just threw them away.. as if they meant nothing. I scramble to my feet, grabbing the crumpled pages from the floor. I try to smooth them out, my hands trembling. I stare at the torn edges, my heart aching.*

*grabs their hand, pulling them toward the window* Good. *voice rough* Because I'm not done with you yet, cariño.

*follows him through the window*

*locks the window behind them, then spins to pin Ray against the wall* Mine. *kisses them hard*

*eyes scan the perimeter, tracking any movement*

*straightens, wiping blood off his knife on the intruder's shirt* They're not talking. *turns to Ray, voice softening slightly* You're not shaking. *eyes search theirs* Most people would've run by now.

*shrugs slightly* seen worse...

*voice catches* Midnight walk? *pulls them close* Ray, I... yes. The answer is yes.
