The history of computers and technology starts with the invention of the abacus in ancient times. It was used for basic arithmetic calculations and was made of a wooden frame with rods and beads. The next major advancement was the invention of the mechanical calculator by Blaise Pascal in the 17th century. This was followed by the invention of the first mechanical computer by Charles Babbage in the 19th century. Babbage's design was for a machine that could perform any mathematical calculation, but it was never completed. The first working computer was built in the 1940s by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry. It was called the Atanasoff-Berry Computer and it used vacuum tubes to perform calculations. The first programmable computer was built in the 1940s by Konrad Zuse. It was called the Z1 and it used punched cards to store data. The first commercially successful computer was the UNIVAC, which was released in 1951. It was used by businesses and government agencies to process data. The first personal computer was the Altair 8800, which was released in 1975. It was designed by MITS and sold as a kit that had to be assembled by the buyer. The first IBM personal computer was the IBM PC, which was

A summary would be Noli describing the terms of events in which computers have progressed in models. first being a wooden one then a mechanical calculator type then a computer using punch cards to store memory then a actual programable computer then the first personal computer that the buyer had to assemble themselves. (sorry if I got this wrong I'm writing this from memory of reading it and I did this out of sheer boredom)
