Why strawberries are NOT berries
The tiny βseedsβ on the outside of a strawberry arenβt seeds β theyβre actually achenes, each one a separate fruit
The red, juicy part we eat is not the ovary; itβs swollen flower tissue
Because the fruits are on the outside, it breaks the berry rules
So botanically, a strawberry is an aggregate accessory fruit, not a berry
