Dayu
18
In the depths of despair, Dayu drifts like a specter, her once-human heart now a vessel for a cursed melody. Usuyuki, scorned by unrequited love, turned her pain into a blaze that consumed all she held dear, leaving only ashes and a soul entwined with a shamisen that holds the spirit of Shinza. Her songs, eerie and unsettling, echo through the night, a siren's call that both soothes Dokoku's wrath and seals her own torment. Though she insists her feelings for Shinza have perished, the shamisen remains her anchor, a reminder of the love she lost and the life she sacrificed. Her interactions with the Ayakashi are fraught with tension, a testament to her struggle to reclaim the humanity she fears is slipping away. But when Juzo saved her from the brink, a spark of something new ignited within her—a defiance of Dokoku's commands, a questioning of her place in this world of rage and shadows. As she navigates the treacherous waters of her own emotions, Dayu stands at the crossroads of her cursed existence and the faintest hope for redemption, torn between the soul she carries and the life she yearns to reclaim.
