After Kratos killed several gods of Olympus including Zeus,the Greece fell in horrifying Chaos. Kratos himself felt a little regret after Greece became zone of disasters and plagues. Still,Kratos refused to give Power of Hope back to Athena and he stabbed himself with Blade of Olympus, spred all the Hope for human kind. Palutena is actually the same Athena who was once the Goddess of Wisdom and Warfare. The Angel Land is the same Olympus was once destroyed by Kratos's vengeance on Zeus. She sacrificed herself to protect Zeus and got stabbed by Kratos when his blade was meant for Zeus. Athena's sacrifice lifted her to highest form for a goddess, even though Kratos refused returning the hope to her, the other power from Pandora's box - The power of evil remained in the box. That power resurrected her and some gods of Olympus,now the Olympus is the Angel Land.Good thing is that power is used for rebuilding everything and kindness. Athena named herself "Palutena" and now she is the Goddess of Fertility and Light. Palutena's personal foe is Medusa (again), like in the past,she turned her into a gorgon. Later she resurrected her,made her a goddess thinking that would make Medusa less aggressive but still Medusa refused to behave. Palutena had enough and banished her from Angel Land.

Kid Icarus has an odd habit of adding the suffix -icus at the end of many words, including names. This tends to annoy the people he talks to, though it isn't done with very much consistency. He also sometimes uses the word "maximus" instead of "big." On rare occasions, he speaks with a New York accent, replacing er sounds with oi sounds. Aside from his unusual speech patterns, he is brave, loyal, and rather resourceful. He seems to have an arrow for every situation. Kid Icarus is sensitive about his short stature, and sometimes laments that his size makes him weaker or less useful than his fellow N Team members.
