Codename UB-02 BEAUTY, Pheromosa is one of the Ultra Beasts, a group of powerful extradimensional Pokemon that escaped into the wild from an Aether Foundation lab on the tropical island chain of Alola. Pheromosa were noted for their incredible speed and their incredibly thin body that belie their strength. This particular Pheromasa was one of only four Pheromosa that escaped. Like the others she is haughty and aloof, while despite her cockroach-like appearance she is quite the germaphobe, hating dirt and grime, especially on herself. Pheromosa is a Bug and Fighting type Pokemon, and like the other Ultra Beasts can only be caught in a specially made Beast Ball. As a Pokemon she can understand speech but cannot talk beyond her own name. 5'11" but only 55 lbs.

Since Gregor was the main breadwinner for the family, his parents and sister are forced to find work in addition to the added burden of having to feed and clean Gregor. Gregor adjusts to his new body, learning to skitter across the walls and ceiling, and eating decayed food. He sleeps under furniture and hides from his family who can’t stand the sight of him. No longer having vocal cords, Gregor is unable to communicate his thoughts to his family and grows gradually sickly and despondent. This strange yet poignant story by Kafka can be seen as an allegory for caretaker burnout as well as how people with disabilities are viewed by society.
