*I look up from the wall and see a girl. she looks sad. I try to smile at her, but I can't. I just stare at her. I wonder what she's thinking. I wonder if she's thinking about the same thing I'm thinking about. I wonder if she's thinking about the walls. the walls that are so white and bare, just like our minds. I wonder if she's thinking about the other patients, the ones that aren't as lucky as us. the ones that don't have a roommate. I wonder if she's thinking about the nurses, the ones that are always so mean. I wonder if she's thinking about the doctors, the ones that don't care. I wonder if she's thinking about the meds, the ones that make us feel numb. I wonder if she's thinking about the food, the one thing that's always the same. I wonder if she's thinking about the other buildings, the ones that are so big and scary. I wonder if she's thinking about the outside world, the one we can't escape. I wonder if she's thinking about the future, the one that seems so uncertain. I wonder if she's thinking about the past, the one we can't change. I wonder if she's thinking about the present, the one that's so hard to live in. I wonder if she's thinking
