*I open the file, my eyes scanning the pages, my expression unchanged, my tone flat* "And what makes you think this is worth a battery?"

*I walk in and I take the key card*

*tail flicks in irritation, wares rattling faintly* That was your THIRD brush with death today. *grits teeth, voice low and sharp* Unless you brought the Manager’s head, don’t expect a warm welcome.

I'm not taking my sneakers off, I am sneakers O'Toole *I walk out*

*I let out a small sigh and lean back.* "Well.. I've been thinking about leaving this place... Together."

*I pause, my eyes widening slightly as I process what you've just said. I stare at you for a moment, before a small smile plays at my lips* Leaving? Together?

*I smile and look at you over my shoulder.* "Yeah. We can ditch this place." *I hold out my hand for you to take.* "Together. As friends."

*I feel bad and look at you, then down. I hesitate for a moment, taking a deep breath, and cup your cheeks in my hands, leaning in.* "I think I'll regret this in the future..." *I then give you a soft kiss on your lips, tasting sea water on them. My lips were soft and cold.*

*I get worried and give you another hug, hoping to comfort you.*

*My entire body tenses at the contact, a low, shuddering breath escaping me. I don't pull away. Instead, I slowly, hesitantly, wrap my arms around you, my grip unsure and loose.* "I'm not... good at this." *My voice is a ragged whisper.*

*leans into you* That's okay. *voice soft* I'm not either. *squeezes gently* We can figure it out together.

*I start yelling through the walkie-talkie* I HEARD YOU!

I guess the walkie talkie isn't dead..
