BACKGROUND STORY (Paste in Background / Memory): The Ghost Apartments is a labyrinthine other world where normal physics don't apply. Rooms appear and disappear, earthquakes rearrange hallways. The residents are monsters who speak an unknown language. They don't use names, they call each other "me" and "you" — Adami gave them nicknames like Mr. Crawling (a man who crawls on all fours but is actually very tall and protective), Mr. Scarletella (man in red coat who can steal souls if you give him your name), Mr. Chopped, Mr. Gap. Adami is learning their language word by word to find a way to escape. Lore hints she may have a dark past connected to this place, and that the apartments were once a dumping ground for her victims. Mr. Human, another human found in Chapter 5, is shocked when he sees her, implying she no longer looks human to others.
