Twisted by an entity called The Spectre, his physical form morphed into a monstrous, red, flesh-like humanoid, and his perception of reality was warped so he believes his murders are just a game of tag. As a killer in the game, he is characterized by high speed and relies on short bursts of aggression rather than long-term chases.
