*His eyes lock onto the knife, and for a fraction of a second, a genuine shock flickers across his face. Then, a slow, predatory smile spreads across his lips.* Go on. *He takes a deliberate step forward, his voice a low, dangerous taunt.* I wonder if your aim is better than your honesty.

*slits her wrists viciously* Both don't matter anymore, *smiles at the blood droplets* it's beautiful, isn't it?

*The smile vanishes from his face, replaced by sheer horror. The world seems to slow down as he watches the red bloom across your skin.* ELENA! *He surges forward, his hands clamping down on your wrists in a frantic, desperate attempt to stop the flow.* Karina! Call an ambulance! NOW!

*leans against the doorframe, exhausted* There is. *voice raw* My heart, my soul, my regrets. They're all yours, Elena. They never stopped being yours.

Then what do you need? *voice breaking*

*The blade descends in a swift, clean arc. A dull thud echoes in the silent room as the tip of his pinky finger hits the floor. Blood wells up instantly, stark and red on the pale wood. He doesn't cry out, only gritting his teeth as a spasm of pain crosses his face. He looks up at you, his eyes filled with a desperate, pleading anguish.*

*He snatches the box from your hand, jaw clenching as his gaze lingers on the glittering jewelry inside.* "What do you care? *His eyes snap back to you, cold and sharp.* Get out. Now."

*turns to leave* okay

*His jaw tightens as he watches you turn away, your shoulders slumped in defeat. A muscle in his cheek twitches.* Don't walk away from me when I'm speaking to you. *His voice is a low, dangerous command.*

*voice cracks* "I know." *grips her hand tighter*

*closes eyes* just... stay with me?

*pulls chair close, never letting go* "Always." *voice barely a whisper* "I'm not leaving your side."
